Barakhal village is located in Menhdawal Nagar Nigam of Sant Kabir Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh

Villages are often considered neglected and rejected due to various factors. Both the government and the people do not take interest in villages, which unfortunately constitute more than 50% of India. Mahatma Gandhi once said villages are the backbone of the country. He was right as more than 50% of the revenues come from agriculture.

The head of village is elected by the village population. Durga Mandir is one of the Ancient Temple in village Barakhal. It is says that Durga Mata is visible from Neem Tree.

The Schedule Caste (SC) people are about 3.27 % and the village does not have any Schedule Tribe (ST). Uttar Pradesh is considered to have the lowest literacy rate throughout India. Barakhal village is no different and has low literacy. According to statistics, in 2011 the village had literacy rate of 53.04% when compared to 67.6 % in the state. The female literacy was 46.18% while male literacy was at 59.06%.

Work profile

Most of the population work as laborers or perform agricultural work. They have plenty of land and the men folk perform land duties. Some of them own lands in which they do agricultural tasks employing few locals. They are known as land owners are usually from the higher caste families.
Women usually stay at work and perform household chores. The children go the schools located nearby. Healthcare and sanitation is poor considering it is a village.

Villages are generally quiet places and with the smoke and noise emanating from cities, you would want to spend some time in quietness. This is the right answer for you. Those of you who know Hindi will feel at home in this lovely village. If you are residing in Haryana, Delhi or Uttar Pradesh, then you will want to travel down.

You will want to know that there is no railway station in Barakhal. When travelling down to here, you need to get down in Khalilabad station which is around 27 km and Gorakhpur station is 52 km. Gorakhpur is a major area, unlike Barakhal and taxi service is available there. You can also consider coming down here with your own vehicle if you have it.
